Welcome back to all! Lets get this IndyCar season started! Along with the baseball season...Go Reds. Hell I still have some hope for the Bluejackets...
I was wondering if all 24 drivers listed on the indy.com
website run in all of the events or is there a driver listing before each race. I would hate to pick a driver who isn't even in the race :(
I would like to see an entry list for each race also. This winter was full of partial season deals that make it harder to pick the long shots.
Steve K's IndyCar Predictions:
Will Power scores less points than last year but wins the championship.
Triple Crown of Indycar:
Long Beach: Will Power - He has it last year if not for that mystery incident on the front stretch.
Indy: Tony Kanaan. KV was fast with Moraes. Now imagine someone who knows what they are doing in the car. TK has been through so much on that track and in the off season, plus IndyCar is due for a fairytale.
Las Vegas: Power, Dario, Dixon, Helio, or Briscoe. No 5 million bonus this year. Oh, and Lewis Hamilton will not step foot on that oval.
Rookie of the Year:
If he gets a ride with Newman-Haas it will be James Hinchcliff. If not then JR Hildebrand is your man. Sorry Charlie.
Do they win this year?
Danica - Yes
Tracy - No
Bourdais - Yes
Rahal - No
Simona - No
Any Rookie - No, unless SeaBass is somehow considered a rookie.
Controversy of the year: G2
Dixon and Dario don't come across in any interview I have read as thrilled about this. They have even said its a separate team. Graham Rahal seems to embrace them as teammates. Perhaps Chip made a mistake by not paring the four of them at the Daytona 24. I know he won the race but they were on separate teams. If Kimball or Rahal makes a dumb move on the 9 or 10 car or the 9-10 cars are slow, Chip may have to deal with a splintered team.
D24 side note: After watching the Daytona 24, Joey Hand needs to be in an IndyCar.
I will try to post an entry list for each race or a link to one.
The race entry list is posted at

Hey Steve k.
you forgot you prediction for the 2011 Pickem champion?..."Dogs" this is going to be your year!
Steve K will be the 2011 Pickem Champion!
How's that?

Watching St Pete don't look good for me Helio won't do very good.

Well, those that picked Dario or Power have a big lead over everyone else so far. The rest of us got caught in the carnage.
"Dishonorable Mention…The season just started and Dogs is back in the cellar…"
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Grand Prix (pronounced 'pricks')....I resemble that remark!! Well played Keith Richards, I mean THE Kenster. I'm a proud card carrying member of the cellar dwellers; kinda like the bleacher bums at Wrigley. We are well stocked with Doggie Style light beer, half-naked women, and the sun always shines on our ass. Peace, THE Doggage baby!!
Oh yeah, The Pacers made the playoffs!! No.........seriously, they did. I know I know, pipe down Bulls fans; I hear the sweep chants, but still. Boom babysteps folks, boom babysteps. Peace, Dogs
I'm officially on the Simona bandwagon! Now that Sarah decided to do the wife/mother/car owner thing, Simona will be my girl driver to root for at Indy this year. Speaking of Indy, glad to see Thomas Scheckter has a ride locked up for the 500; super fast driver, but just can't keep the wheels on it for the whole race. Peace, Dogs
What?! No Tunica????
The Kentster
FYI......there is a link to see the Hot Wheels stunt guys prep for the massive ramp/jump thing that is planned for Indy this year as part of the 100 year anniversary celebration for the 500. It is on Indystar.com/sports, hopefully it is still accessible. Peace, Dogs
Thanks for the two beers Keith, now Jagerbombs for everyone and keep em coming!! A keg of beer goes out to my Indiana Pacers for getting a playoff win!! This series should be at least 2-2 or even in the Pacers favor; they just happen to have a very bad man on their team named D-Rose. P.S., it's almost the month of May kids- Kentster, I hope you've set back a hundy for your ticket. Peace, Dogs
Done and done.
Kentster
Done and done.

So nice I had to say it twice.
The field has been soiled with sponsor money/Andretti bulls***!! We're all chasing the green, so I give a slight 'do whatcha gotta do' to AJ. I hope when they announce the drivers that they will say "the number 41 machine driven by RHR (bbbboooooo), but qualified by Bruno Junquera (yeaaa)". Bruno deserves a break at Indy and a nice paycheck from both Foyt and Andretti for this backdoor job. Peace, Dogs
That for the pics! Dogs and Kentster pics were posted at bottom of the site!
Anyone planning to hit up Kentuckey?
I asked Kindi if she was having fun making her picks and she said, "WTF, I'm in 16th place!" Paul
how about an update?
Well at least I have moved up a little. When you are at the bottom there is no other place to go.

The end of the season is almost upon us. This morning I read about Al Jr's third DUI arrest. Never been a gig Al unser fan (father or son), but I think this is bad for INDYCAR. Hope he gets some help. I just wanted to ask all Pickem players to not drink and drive. I like to drink as much as anyone (well maybe not as much as Dogs) but do it at home. I have seen way too much heartache brought on by too much alcohol behind the wheel. Enjoy your off season, but please get a designated driver. Paul
It was a terrible tragedy to lose Dan Wheldon today. Pack racing on 1.5 mile banked ovals is beyond insane. We all love oval racing, but IndyCar needs to double the horsepower of the cars, or remove much of the downforce, so drivers on the 1.5 mile ovals have to lift, at least to some degree, in the corners. It's crazy to tune cars to simply run with the gas pedal mashed flat to the floor. When this happens, drivers have lost much of their ability to create time and space. That's why the drivers all seem to love Milwaukee and other "drivers" tracks because when there they are lifting, braking, or mashing it for 90 minutes. The 1.5 mile banked cookie-cutter ovals are "engineers" tracks--the primary skill needed by drivers is to be a brave enough "pilot" to keep it flat and steer. And unfortunately, Dan Wheldon paid for that with his life.
Thanks Keith and Jackie for again sponsoring Indy Pick'em for the 2011 season. With respect to awards, Team Wisconsin would like to suggest it qualifies for the Tom Petty "Free Falling" award (remember that song?) given that the team had two consecutive top six finishes in 2009 and 2010 before finishing last this year. Not sure if anyone has ever tumbled that far. Thanks again from Team Wisconsin.
My prays are with the Wheldon family. I believe we can say he won the race outright. I wish these days never come but they do. I will miss him. I can still hear his voice over my scanner "I just won the Indy 500!"
